Akira Thompson is a Creative Director and Generative AI Lead at R/GA. As a veteran of the advertising and computer graphics industries, he has worked for a broad spectrum of companies, from boutique motion design shops to high-end visual effects powerhouses like Framestore (where he served as Design Director). Specializing in design, visual effects, and motion graphics gives Akira a unique, cross-disciplinary perspective. He has contributed to projects ranging for film and television, live events, projection mapping and spatial computing for clients such as Verizon, Google, Dell, Samsung, Nike and The New York Times. Akira is deeply immersed in the burgeoning field of generative AI, exploring and building in Stable Diffusion, AnimateDiff, Controlnet, RunwayML, Pika, ElevenLabs, and Luma to name a few. He sees AI as an essential tool of the future and is eager to stay at the forefront of this rapidly evolving field.
